Can we try again?
I tried to share this article for you yesterday, and of course like all things new, I flubbed at it. I failed to actually attached the FREE 2025 Aspirations Planner DOWNLOAD for you! (Pst…it’s at the end)
Let’s try again!
Each year people make New Year’s resolutions. Some people love it, some people hate it. I am a lover of New Year’s resolutions, but maybe not in the way it’s often construed.
I like to set goals and aspirations rather than hard resolves that I’ll fail at by Tuesday. My goals and aspirations are dotted lines, with room for growth and improvement. They usually are things I have to work at.

Generally, I take inventory of all of the facets of my life: relationship with Jesus, my marriage, my children, homeschool, service, work, hobbies, etc. I evaluate the systems set in place or systems that ended up neglected. I write down the things I notice need improvements and growth. Sometimes I write these down in a Venn-diagram, kinda like the one in your FREE 2025 Aspirations Planner. The areas that overlap are the sweet spots (or sore spots) where I should concentrate my efforts.
Another way I set goals is by choosing a word or phrase for the year. I started doing this about 2-3 years ago. This word or phrase becomes my funnel in which I try to filter my goals and all of the other things I take on throughout the year.
My 2025 Word of the Year: Consistency
As a creative, a dreamer, mom, homeschool teacher, and ADHD brain, there’s no shortage of ideas and things happening with me. I operate at full capacity with a certain level of chaos. I always have plenty of ideas and projects but rarely do I ever finish them.

I get so close, but no cigar. I don’t get derailed by road blocks or challenges; I get bored. About mid-idea, mid-dream, mid-project I hit this brick wall called boredom. I think my brain craves the excitement of starting something new and loses interests when the feeling fades.
While some might say that’s just my brain, I fully believe it’s an area I need to grow.
My God is constant
As a believer in Christ Jesus, I’m supposed to be aspiring to become more like Him. To be more like Him, I must develop His attributes and character traits. Consistency is one of His finest. God is constant. He is so faithful! He always accomplishes what He intends to do. In Malachi 3:6 it says, God changes not.
To be more like Him, I must grow. I must take on the challenge of sticking through with something even when I feel stagnant or like the excitement is gone. I must do this for myself, but also for my kids. They need to see grit and pursuit of dreams. They need to see resolve to complete what has been started.
What about you?
I’m not sure what your aspirations are for 2025, but I hope they are all life-giving. Life is too short to set goals you think someone else expects you to have. If you don’t really care about your goals, no one else will care nearly as much either. Make sure the things you aspire to do this year bring value to your life and your spheres of influence.
I hope the FREE 2025 Aspirations Planner is a good resource for you. Find your word, write down your motivation, and brainstorm through your priorities. Remember, you’re in charge of your goals!
